Today is the day of the Kryptonite, aka hydroxyurea. I had the intention of writing something about that, about the experience of taking such stuff, but I don’t feel like it. Yesterday night I discussed some of how it feels with a friend. “I’m an old hand.” I said, and it certainly feels like that. It’s like the checklist I had for weathering storms, ages ago, when I still did open water sailing: make sure hatches are closed, make coffee and soup in thermos flasks, put on dry suit and life vest. So, everything prepared and now I can concentrate on distractions and entertainment. Which means iPod playlists. Meanwhile: highly amusing emails from J., calls with M. to discuss projects and performances, and A. sending me links to guys playing the Hang drum. All in all not a bad score, but we’ll see how today goes.
